Alina Belova Makeup Artist is a personal brand project developed to support Alina’s transition into the professional makeup and beauty industry. The project scope included website design, brand presentation, and a streamlined booking experience for makeup sessions. Development took place gradually during the COVID lockdown period, allowing time to refine both visual and functional aspects of the site. The primary goal was to create a simple, user friendly website that showcases Alina’s services, skills, and artistic style while making it easy for clients to book appointments. The result is a clean and visually polished platform that reflects both her makeup expertise and design background.
Summary
This project was created to support Alina’s professional growth as a makeup artist after completing an ITEC certified course and transitioning from a corporate IT career. While the pandemic delayed in person work, it created an opportunity to focus on building a strong digital presence. The website was designed as a central platform to promote makeup services, highlight Alina’s artistic vision, and provide a clear and accessible booking experience for clients.
What makes this project significant is the combination of beauty and design expertise behind it. During lockdown, Alina expanded her graphic design skills through Granich design courses, which directly influenced the visual identity and structure of the website. Challenges related to timing and industry uncertainty were turned into an advantage by refining the user experience and design details. The final outcome is a professional, minimal, and easy to use website that supports long term growth in the beauty industry.
Challenge
The main challenge of this project was timing. After completing professional makeup training, the COVID pandemic forced the beauty industry to pause, making it impossible to immediately launch services. This uncertainty required a shift in focus from active client work to long term preparation. The website still needed to be built in a way that would remain relevant and effective once services could resume.
Another challenge was creating a booking focused website without overwhelming users. The goal was to keep the platform simple, elegant, and intuitive while clearly communicating services, availability, and contact options. Balancing personal branding, visual aesthetics, and functionality required careful planning to ensure the website felt professional without unnecessary complexity.
Solutions
We used the lockdown period to fully focus on creating a refined and user friendly website tailored to Alina’s makeup services. The structure was designed around simplicity, with clear service presentation and an easy booking flow that removes friction for potential clients. Visual elements were carefully crafted to highlight makeup work while keeping the overall experience calm and elegant.
