2025
Procabs.ie is a long established taxi service in Galway, locally run by the Murphy family and led by John. The project focused on refreshing an outdated website that no longer reflected the reliability and reputation of the business. The work was delivered under a tight timeline, with the main website launched within 7 days and further refinements completed the following week. The scope included UX and UI redesign, website restructuring, and content optimisation for two core audiences taxi users and taxi drivers. The goal was to create a fast, modern, and easy to navigate platform that clearly communicates services while improving usability. The outcome is a lightweight and user focused website built to serve daily customer needs with clarity and speed.
Summary
This project was created to modernise Procabs’ digital presence and align it with the company’s strong local reputation. Delivered within a compressed timeframe, the scope included a complete website refresh with a focus on performance, simplicity, and clarity. The primary goal was to redesign the user journey so visitors could instantly understand how to book a taxi or apply to become a driver, without unnecessary distractions or complexity.
What makes this project significant is the balance between speed and quality. Despite the short deadline, the website delivers a clear structure for two distinct audiences while remaining lightweight and responsive. Challenges related to navigation and content overload were resolved through careful UX planning and prioritisation of key actions. The final result is a modern, efficient website that reflects Procabs’ reliability and supports both customers and drivers with clear and accessible information.
Challenge
The existing Procabs website was not only visually outdated but also difficult to navigate. Information was scattered across multiple pages, menus were overloaded, and the user experience made it hard for visitors to quickly find what they needed. This affected both taxi users trying to book a ride and potential drivers looking for information about joining the company. The complexity of the site did not reflect the simplicity and reliability of the service itself.
The biggest challenge was the extremely tight timeline. The new website had to be designed, built, and launched within one week, with no disruption to the business. This required clear decision making, strong prioritisation, and a focused scope. Ensuring a smooth experience for two very different user groups while working under time pressure was critical to the success of the project.
Solutions
We began by rethinking the website structure from a user experience perspective, focusing on two primary paths: ordering a taxi and becoming a driver. Through UX and UI brainstorming, we stripped away unnecessary elements and designed a clear, direct journey for each audience. The homepage was built to immediately guide users to the most important actions, reducing friction and improving clarity.
The website was launched within 7 days, followed by an additional week of refinement and polishing. By focusing on performance, clean design, and minimal content, we delivered a fast and lightweight platform that works seamlessly across devices. The final solution is a modern and intuitive website that reflects Procabs’ long standing reputation, supports daily operations, and provides a strong digital foundation for future growth.
